Something about this line really struck me when I read it; I actually paused from reading to think about it for a while. Which proves that it’s a good line, it takes a brilliant writer to make you stop and think with a single line. It’s true as well; people spend far too much time paying attention to every detail of other people’s lives, giving advice, telling them how to live that they can’t see that they need to spend some attention on their own lives. That’s not to say that you should be completely self centred and not show some interest in the lives of your friends, but there is showing an interest and sticking your nose in. Amen to that! totally agree with you Lucy! And it's true, it's only a very talented writer who can make you stop and think about something. Not many can, but Cecelia sure can, that's why I love her so much! xxx
ReplyDeleteI so agree with that too Lu. There is also the last line she wrote in 'The Gift' that has a lot of meaning too. 'Time can't be give. But it can be shared'. That is so very true in life that we can't be given time, but we can share the time that we all have with others that are in our lives.
